Hi, My car keeps idling constantly at 1500 (or around there abouts)rpm. Does anyone know what i should do to lower the revs? unplug the ecu and reboot the puter? Thanks Neil 90' 180sx ca18det |

there should be an idle air bleed screw somewhere.. It may have worked loose and the ECU can't bring the idle down enough with the normal idle control valve. I'm not too sure how the ca18 intake is set up though.. |

There is an idle screw on the inlet plenum. Actually its a bolt. size 10 or 12 off hand. Mind you this doesn't appear to change the rpm a whole lot... maybe 500 rpm from fully in to fully screwed out. apparently on the ECU when you are NOT in one of the diagonostic modes, the diagnostic screw acts as a idle speed control. I havn't played with this much, but its something to try I guess. Yes unplug your battery overnight to reset the pewta and see if that makes any difference. |
