Car: Supercharged VS Ute PLZ Don't Hold It Against Me!
Just checkin if anyone has had to do a claim thru Famous Car Insurance bcos i will most probly be getting insured (when i get a 180) thru these guys and making sure they don't work their way out of paying for damages etc. because they seem nearly too good to be true
thanks guys

yeah I have claimed through them.

All I can say is make sure you keep tabs on everything that happens, cos there are major communication issues with them being in WA.

I had my car sent off to auction without my knowledge (after I'd paid for the wreck to be delivered back to me)...

Basically you have to be prepared to be on the phone a hell of a lot. At least they have a toll free number (no that they tell you that on the policy or any other documentation :))

Also, if you do pay by the month it costs 10% more. If you claim you have to pay the whole year's premium - including the extra 10% interest on the whole amount.

I couldn't find anyone else who'd insure me for anything remotely reasonable :)

Just wondering....

I know if you make a claim with Famous they get someone to assess the damage AFTER you get the quotations (obviously to make sure it's reasonable). Has anyone gone through claiming with Famous and repaired the car ? If so, was the car assessed AGAIN after the repair ?

And what happens to the NCB ? For example, if it's on 60%.

Depends who is at fualt
if the other party is at fualt it doesnt affect you, even if they dont have insurance, but if you are at fualt you would loose your NCB unless stated other wise in your policy

so if you had for eg 50% NCB.. and make a claim whilst being at fault... do you lose ALL of your NCB?
