Is it alright to power a sub that has 380W RMS power and 1300W peek power with an amp that has 240W RMS power and 2400W peek power?

Yes.

Don't even bother looking at peak figures. They mean jack (who cares what power it can take for 1ms at 1khz cycle before it blows up).

It is ok, just note that this does put extra strain on your alternator as it will be working alot more (they usually push a maximum of 70 - 100 amps). I went through 2 alternators and 2 batteries, i was running a 400RMS mono block and 200RMS 4channel amp. It all depends on how much you run it really. i was running mine all the time. You can get upgraded alternators (not 100% about sr20) but the are way too expensive.
