Hello, I am 24 years old and with 2 years driving experience. I intend to buy s15 and looking for the JDM spec R and the local spec R. Can somebody tell me if I buy a third party insurance with thrift and fire, how much i need to pay for these 2 models between the JDM and local spec? thx mate!!

well, its depends on your age, location, garage status, driving history, frequency of driving etc

im 19 on my last year of greens with a jap spec s15 and the only people that will insure me are just car for a nice fat 4,600/year (full comp, agreed value) :S still trying to rack up the cash...

but as zei said location, age, use etc etc will effect how much u pay

see i pay 1800 im 30, good driving record in the last 5 years, garaged at night, all mods covered, driven every day to work.

thats with shannons for a JDM S15

too right !!!
mine is garaged, in a low crime rate area, only driven on weekends, good driving history for last two years!!

best bet it to ring some companies and get some qoutes everyones will be different :D

Actually iam 24 and with 2 years experience with clean record, so is that the insureance for JDM spec need to pay high than local spec a lot?

AFAIK shannons dont care if its JDM or AUDM, it goes by value and engine type plus all your other particulars etc

no it doesn't. they woke up to that scam a LONG time ago. the policy premium is dictated by the terms of the youngest and most risky driver.
putting your parents down as the 'owner' and yourself as a named driver just gets their names on the policy so they're covered to drive it,it doesn't save you anything.
