does Just Cars or Shannon covers the car for track day? If they don't, do you guys know what insurance company covers the car for track day?

i think you need seperate insurance for track work. AFAIK a normal road policy wont cover any sort of track work or anything like that where its not on a public road during public use.

No insurance company will cover you for track work.

I think shannons offer a policy for road/rally registered cars that covers you while it's parked in the garage and driven to the track and driving between stages. once you are on the track, or closed road for tarmac rally, you are on your own.

although accidents may happen, its pretty unlikely - everyone on the track is aware that there is no insurance, so nobody does anything stupid if there are other cars close by. ive been out on the track a fair bit and have never had any bad/close calls with other cars...

You need to be aware of who you are driving with.

Generally give yourself some room, either drop back from the guy in front or go past him.

Keep an eye out for traffic coming up behind you. It's pretty easy to tell if someone is catching rapidly or slowly and plan where to let them past.

If you aren't racing there is no overtaking in corners, only straights. Only the biggest dickheads (usually in evo's i've noticed) try and drive up the inside of you on corners. Again, be aware of people behind you. If you are going wide on your entry and they stcik their nose up the inside then you just stay wide and let him drive past. You don't have to as it is the rsponsibility of the overtaking driver to pass safely, but it will work in your favour as he will pull away from you and you have some space again.
