Post subject:  Stereo with iPod interface

Anyone have one?

i had a pioneer in my old S15, but im looking for a better model with maybe a screen and dvd or something built in.

any ideas? i dont mind the brand, but id rather to have a popular well-known brand than something new or something from strathfield etc.

probably going for a single DIN, id need the ipod interface and an AUX in for something in the future. price id like to keep it down to reasonable as i like music, but i wont be entering competitions lol

ohh the main thing would be how much control over the ipod you have. the pioneer was good, but it was hard to go between albums and if i removed the ipod and plugged it back in, i had to setup some stuff again and that was annoying as hell!

thanks

I personally haven't used one, but I believe the Alpines are pretty good w/ iPod interface.

My alpine deck has ipod input. No Flashy screen or shit like that though.

I dont have an ipod....

so can't say whether it's any good or not, though the menus for trawling through cd's full of MP3's is fairly good

hey iain

i just purchased a new head unit also, i didnt want dvd becasue imo it is a waste of time and big fines these days so i scrapped my old head unit with the dvd

this is a panasonic and i got a great price on it. it is the CQ-C7703

http://panasonic.com.au/products/detail ... ectID=3208

it is a great unit and one of the more powerful ones too with 70W x 4

it is ipod and bluetooth ready also. you just need a cable i think. also has aux outputs too for other devices.

Let me know if you want one, i got mine for $480, they are $599 RRP i think if you want one at the same price i see what i can do for you

ps. there is a more expensive version with a colour screen, but seriously you want good sounding music, with not too much flashy wank.

pps. i have my JVC DVD/MP3/CD/DIVX etc etc etc player and Schnieder 7" Motorised Screen for sale. Has built in tv tuner too. let me know if your interested can work something out

my GF's S14 has a CDA 9857 alpine deck. I had one as well, but have opted to upgrade to a DVD capable model after a warranty claim on mine.
retail on the 9857 is $599.
the Ipod interface is smooth, and easy to use. full speed connection, and full access to the menus.

You can demo it on the weekend if you like Iain.

I ended up getting one of those current 6.5inch pioneer fold out screen/dvd's in one and bought an ipod kit.

Its a really good interface, as the screen is all touch sensative, allowing me to see basically what is on my ipod. Ie if I set up my own playlists, just select those, or if I want to go to an album, I can view all my albums, or genre, recently added etc.

Love the setup as its so flexible
