A cheap way of doing this is by using POS terminals. The one i found was a shop-in-a-box from a company called keycorp. It came with a tiny k6 333, with 64meg ram, 7gig hdd and notebook cdrom. The pc is in a case roughly 40cm x 40cm x 7cm.
Video was run through a 10" 256 colour lcd which should fit in the glovebox. great for mp3s but not much else.. you should be able to pick up a complete unit for around 300 bucks or less

my mums boyfriend has a computer in his 4x4. its about the same size as a cdrom (the front of it is a cdrom), but about 30cm in depth. the LCD screen was like a normal screen.

his is specifically made for a vehicle, i dont know why knowone has heard of them :-?
i also think he got it imported from america.

I would be interested, especially if it came from the US.. My dad is going over next month again so he wants to know if I want anything... this could be worth looking into.

dont put a pc in your car... dont put a ps2 in your car....

put a modded XBOX in your car!

an xbox with a mod chip, and hdd upgrade, will allow you to transfer movies, mp3s, pictures WHATEVER you want to it! better than a pc!

it also plays games!

i have my xbox modded and i have heaps o movies and mp3s - it also has 120gb hdd in it incase u were wondering. Also can store games on the HDD so its like portable entertainment!

i know of a few mates who have also done this.... anyone done it here???

let us know!

cheers,
mark
