i tried all the insurance places for my 180sx. im 20 with clean drivers history.

the best i could get with my dad also in the drivers seat was just cars which was 2200 with no mods and a 3 point alarm.

i ended up taking 3rd party for 630

another place that isnt as WELL KNOWN as the other is called 'cool kids with cool cars' or something like that... they havent got really high prices and they allow good payment schemes. they quoted 1800 for comp but the exess for any accident was 4000... this is where the difference is held.

I tried shannons, seemed all fine to go through until i told them my car isn't ALWAYS locked within a secure garage door..as in one connected to a house or somethin with some insane security system you'll see on a bond movie.. so i went to Justcars, and i'm hit up for $3400 Full Comprehensive for my S14a (Stocker Turbo), initiated policy when i was 20... yay...

Still at the end of the day, I personally dont see the point of paying full insurance if u have a good alrm system in place and u are a failry good driver with clean records. The extra money could be used other ways. Since the excess is so high might as well use it for better alarnm system

so what happens when your perfect driving history puts you in a position where you 'accidently' hit a $200,000 mercedes and dont have the money to pay for it?

Well if it isnt your fault the Other parties insurance will have to pay you out or fix the damage..

If they hit the runner?
Geez i dont know how often that happens. I think i have more of a chance getting hit by an asteroid than that happening.
:D
