I checked out a couple of groups like NRMA, Allianz - average $565 for Green Slip.

AAMI cost me $364 - I did it online and the RTA gets the payment within a few min and you can go do the rego at the RTA pretty much straight away.

I am 25 though and my car is an 84 Gaz.

i did the same thing, went with AAMI and my car is registered for business use. only they would give me normal prices, everyone else wanted well over $500

its a pity they dont do 'performance car' comprehensive insurance for people under 30 without special quotes. if they insure them at all for U30s

NRMA who I was orginally with, wanted approx $560 etc.

We have AAMI for house insurance also, so maybe we got a reduced rate?

The original quote I got was not the final price I paid, but I spoke to somone on the phone to get it all finalised.

green slip doesnt worry about mods, its the age of driver and age/type of car i believe and probably where you live also

No offence, but helps to comment if you know what you are talking about.

The reason NRMA green slips are so much more expensive than most green slips (sitting in at around $567), is that they are the ONLY CTP provider that actually covers the driver (ie you) in an at fault accident.
So while other CTP green slips cover pedestrians, passengers and other vehicle occupants, NRMA will cover you if you get injured and end up hospitilised or fuked up from an accident which you were at fault.

Now, if you have a 60% no claim bonus and your car is comprehensively insured and you can prove your insurance is current (no matter who you are insured with) your nrma green slip drops to around $260-$300 approx.

So for my 180 which I consider the more dangerous of my cars I got an nrma one, and for the shitbox daily driver I got a QBE one which cost Fuk all.

like me, a lot of people on this forum wont have anything to do with the nrma on a matter of principle, even if they do offer the world. If i get burnt i dont go back for seconds and pay for the privlidge.
