the sound doesnt actually distort - its the rattles and the CLICK CLICK CLICK sound that gets really annoying :P

Although an ipod with an FM transmitter might be the go.

iPod requires extra, like car charger and stuff like that usually... also, do you have a use for it other than the car?

if not, then get the HU, you'll get better quality from it.

My ipod only gets used in the car and it rocks. I have the Alpine ipod adapter though so as well as having full control from the HU, the sound quality is tops.

Luke I have one of those 5 x 7's I put in Pauls car in the garage, use that for test fitting.
