Can someone give me a brief tutorial or description about the different types of turbo's available? Not how they work or nothing but the different types, idea of cost etc.? (ie. T25, T28, Garrett etc.)

Or do you know any URL's that show this sort of information?

Thanks.

T2 - small like on ET Pulsar
T25 - on CA18DET pretty good
T28 - ball bearing can flow like 400+hp
T3/4 - gettin bigger
T67 - woohoo like 600+hp
T88 - hell yeah insane

Pretty brief. Ball bearing ones spin faster make more power and last longer. Hi-flow is exactly that allows more flow through turbo.

ok, thanks for that info.

Also with turbo's, there are T25's, T28's, T3's etc, but are they all made by the same brand of a few main brands? (forgive my ignorance ) I've heard of Garrett, that's about it. Are the T25 and T28 turbo's in Silvia's made by Nissan?

Thanks.

As Rohan stated above the T25 comes on the CA18DET, I know I have a T28 on my S15 as for Skylines and other Nissan turbos I am not sure.

In the 80's Nissan and Garrett put something like $15 million into turbo research and boy did it pay off. Other brands - HKS, IHI, Apexi, Turbonetics, KKK, Sard, Trust etc. There are heaps and are pretty much all the same anyway.

Another thing.
What about T03 and T04 turbo's? Are they just T3 and T4 turbo's? And if so why are they called T03 and T04?
