ok i have bought a Trust BOV for my car. has anyone got experience with installing them in the stock position on an S14 or S15. my friend and i want to both install this type of BOV on our cars. if anyone has done it and can give us some hints, that would be fantastic. mine will arrive later this week or early next week so ill attempt it then. i cant wait :)

thanks

You can get a fitting kit otherwise they do come with a flange, I just got the exhaust shop to weld a bigger pipe where the stock one is and welded the flange to that. This was for the Type R (which is a big muthafucka)

i got the BOV today, the weird thing is that it needs two vacuum lines. yeah i can do it npz, just whats the other one for. i got it with the adaptor for an S13 (sorry guys its already sold). but i just want to know why there is a vacuum line going from the bov next to where its bolted onto the pipe? that may not have made sense, but it goes from the bov to the pressure that is going into the motor, but then there is the normal vacuum line that runs to the plenum too. anyway im sure ill work it out

One the Type R the second line is to assist it venting (provides an extra hit on the high pressure side of the BOV to start it venting before pressure dictates), it is not required on our cars.

i found that out around 30 mins ago thanks :)

yeah ill have to have an adaptor plate made up to fit it back into the stock position as the bottom of the S15 stock BOV is different. not a problem tho, ill go to an exhaust shop next week.

with the 2nd vacuum line, do i block it up or leave it? the existing owner had it hooked up the the pressure that was in the pipes leading to the plenum - before the throttle body

ive got the type r aswell... the vacuum tap thats on the polished 'head' is left unblocked, and the other one on the body of the unit is the one im using for vacuum.. as advised by peter at advan imports...

omg, do you have the street or race spring in the BOV? when i bought mine it had the race spring that wouldn't open when i was running 10psi, so i changed the spring to a softer one..

Really? Peter told you to do it that way round? I use the fitting at the top for the vacuum and never had a drama with it.

LISTEN,
with the street spring, would it vent efficiently at 7psi?

I am toosing up between the R and the S, ive definately set my mind on a GReddy BOV,

btw, my car is a stock stand 94' 180sx Blacktop SR20DET. will be upgrading turbo etc, but before i do anything to the car, would the BOV vent at stock boost levels? does the type r sound different to the type s?

cheers

mines in a sounds good!! i had a bracket all done for $40 including parts, i installed it because it wasnt hard at all.

anyway, im still worried about that second vacuum line, i think i might plug it up. also, the bov is opening on idle so i have to adjust my emanage, lucky for me it has that feature :)
