The GTRS is rated at 400ps (400hp)

I believe the GT 28RS (.64 exhuast)is rated at 350hp. I have also been told by a mate that they are also bringing out a GT 28 RS with a .86 exhaust housing which will be rated at 400hp. i would imagine that this would be fairly laggy though!!!

Disco Potato got its name from the car that it was tested on. I think it was a brown sentra with flashy lights or something. The disco potato was the name given to the car

well, i finally got everything running in order. the GT28RS is doing very well i must admit.
claims of 350hp i think is not giving enough credit.
so far im running it with 650cc injectors, FMIC, full zorst, HALTECH and im reaching 279rwhp which is probably closer to the 400 mark @ the flywheel. mind you, this is @ 15.2 psi.
ive also dyno'd @ 18psi but my shitty fuel pump is only rated at 400hp. cranking up the duty cycle to compensate didnt do the trick. the pump is shithouse. will be changing this over the weekend and will see what the results are.
seems to be a good bolt on turbo so far.

208rwkw is pretty good, i've been waiting to see your results as i want to get one of these turbos :)

What fuel pump do you have ? Does anyone know what the Walbro 255LPH pumps will flow ?

i have a bosch 0404 in there at the moment. i think i screwed it during the dyno runs. did about 40 tests and its not holding up. just got myself a walbro yesterday. will be installing it today.
i think the bosch is rated at 102 lph @ 6.5 bar
and the walbro is 255 lph @ 6 bar (not sure of pressure so dont quote me)

the walbro is a fantastic intank fuel pump. ive had one in my other S14a for a couple weeks. ive been more than happy with the GT28RS so i decided to get one for the other S14a. so by the end of the weekend, both cars will have the GT28RS and all mods including the walbro pump.

if you are looking at getting this particular turbo, best price i found was horsepowerinabox in Adelaide for 1800. took them 3 days to ship it to me. the first one i picked up was for 2150 at GCG turbos. dont go there. they like to charge too much for their products IMO.
ill be doing more dyno tests in 3 days so ill see what the results show, but at the moment, i do have a grin from ear to ear. :D

Yeah horsepowerinabox has the cheapest price i could find, although i've heard one of the traders on nissansilvia.com (PRO100 i think) can get them for around $1500.

216.1 rwkw @ 4900 rpm ? Does power drop off after this or haven't you finished tuning ?

no... those figures are correct.. the power drops off at around .. hold on, let me go check..

correction.. im getting 200rwkw @ 4900
max is 216.1rwkw @ 5900

a little more tuning to be done to lean out the mixture at high revs.
seems to be a typical characteristic of the SR20DET's.
dyno sheet attached for scrutiny. Image

just to show you what the GT28RS can do consistently, here is my brothers (silentnight) dyno sheet from today.
same mods minus the electronic boost controller which should be installed at the end of the week.
check out the midrange power climb. im jealous! notice the power drop off after 5000rpm? stupid bleed valve!
if this was tuned at CRD, it will register 20rwkw more. i compared the two readings on the same day from micks and CRD.

both of them are equiped with very very similar mods such as...

SILENTNIGHT has....
Trust FMIC, HKS pod, GFB stealthFX BOV, 660cc injectors, sard fuel reg, stainless exhaust manifold, GT28RS, full HKs 3" zorst, Haltech E6X, bleed valve.

mine is similar with HYBRID FMIC, Apexi pod, HKS SSQV BOV, 660cc injectors, stainless exhaust manifold, GT28RS, full Hi-Tech 3" zorst, Haltech E6X, electronic boost controller, launch controller.

power outputs are extremely similar and as you can see, very similar setups.
