hey guys and girls,
i was just wondering if anyone would be able to give me a rough idea on how much a setup will cost me. i am looking to get a 2860 or around that size to suit my ca with manifold etc to suit. i will be most likely get all new braided lines made up for it. i was wondering if a aftermarket manifold is worth it or not as i have heard alot about them cracking up.

also when i look at going ahead with this option, how much will a nistune and a dyno tune set me back? plus will any other supporting mods be needed? other then fuel pump, injectors?

my current setup is, na intake cam, bleed valve and modified air box with k&n filter... (Kinky-Bitch's old motor n box)

cheers
nick

SR conversion

Don't go down the CA path.

It's all over

Like he said, don't go nuts with the CA. If your aim is sub 170-180rwkw you are probably ok (with decent supporting mods of course), over that forget it and get an SR.

Easiest thing is probably not a swap, but to buy a complete SR powered car as they are cheap as now.

GT28RS
- $1500 brand new from horsepowerinabox.com.au

Bosch 040 fuel pump
- $245 brand new from heaps of places

GTR Injectors
-$150+ second hand, or you can try to find some new Sard ones

RB20 AFM
-Significantly cheaper than a Z32 AFM yet reportedly supports over 200rwkw, saw one for $20 the other day

Braided lines w/ Earls fittings
-$200, from gktech.com.au

Nistune installation + tune
-For a comprehensive tune and installation of the daughterboard I think it is less than $1500, best to contact Unigroup though. Depends on how comprehensive you want the tune to be.

An aftermarket manifold isn't needed, and they are typically a lot less durable than the standard cast 'log style' manifold. They are also expensive.

yeh i was goin to go sr but i think i will but i dont want to front the money for a conversion, or go sell my car in favour for an sr fitted one. my car is pritty well setup suspention wise so i dont wont to go and start that all over again either.

thanks for the advise though guys and i want a silvia, thanks for those rough prices, i dont worry so much on prices for braided lines though as my company and family are close friends with the duncun family (pirtek)

for now i might just fit a new dump pipe as mine sits to close to firewall hitting it at times, plus it leaks like a bitch, as gasket is stuffed and missing some nuts and bolts

i am not looking to make high power figures as i dont care how much power my car makes, just looking for a fresh setup which will last my style of driving and still remain as a daily

THE CHEEK!! lol

No no it lasted a hard 8000kms, i then tryed for more and it poped lol but then i did build the engine myself and im not to good at it. H-dev ca powered timeattack car won the chapionship in 2005 and put out 380kw for just over 43,000kms the turbo poped taking the engine with it due to parts of it getting in to the sump.

stealth racing / norris desgins / big tones drag s13 ca car is puting out a cool 580kw ar 45psi on a gt35r and is doing low 10sec passes no problem and tony hopes to do 9's this year

there was also a guy called Richard Beaumont that had a 390rwkw ca which he sold the engine out of and moved to france but last i new was still running stronge after 4-5 years that did 0-100mph 7.419sec infact found the link for it here http://www.norrisdesigns.com/demo-s13.asp

There's nothing wrong with CA motor. SR may only be better by being a newer built engine. CA are generally older motors, thus all rubber and gaskets are worn due to age. A well built and kept CA will do as good as any other SR.

Besides my mate's SR popped in 35 seconds as bad as any other motor can.

CA is RB26 less two cylinders. In saying CA18 is a shit motor = saying rb26 is a shit motor.
