Well the 180 is semi back on the road. Just tonight the dump pipe was finished and the car is semi drivable. I dont have any pipe work on the car yet so it is running as an NA for the time being. It is running as rough as guts but it is good to be mobile again.

Before I bought the new turbo a few people mentioned that the 3037 /3076 whistled like mad. I can assure you they werent kidding. The turbo whistles that much it nearly is as loud as the exhaust.

I am really looking forward to getting the pipework done. I am going to go out on a limb and say that it spools up so quick I reakon it will come on boost faster than the 2871 I was running.

Early days but it looks like the new manifold appears to have been a complete success. Idling at 1000rpm the turbo is spinning like crazy, Im not talking a slow turn Im talking close to making boost speed.

it will quiet down when you get some piping on it tho. the pipes will muffle it

You are probably right. I really dont mind the sound it makes. Do you think having pipes on will slow the spool rate?

of course it will, compressing air into the intake will slow it down, dunno by how much tho

Big turbos get a good whistle going.

big turbos with the anti surge inlets are in another league all together, It probably wont shut up much if you just have a pod in front of it. It will probably get louder when you really start moving some air.

yeah it's the anti surge housing that will really make the whistle loud.

lol so the combo of air cleaner directly on turbo with anti surge mod and no outlet pipe is probably as nasty a comination as you can get. I will look into getting piping done very shortly.

I just picked up one of these today with my brother (3076) bloody massive thing sitting on my coffee table baha.. its going on my bros 2.6 sigma..

Have you got yours running yet dude?? If so what RPM does it start to pull (say starting at low speeds in 2nd gear then giving WOT).

im very interested in the results of one of these turbos..

Let us know the onroad effect and the resultant output!

I am really happy with mine it pulls hard from about 3500 and that is without a full tune. I have just changed my intake cam from a 270 to a 260 so that should be interesting how it effects comming on boost.

2.6 should come on sooner due to the larger CCs. I havent actually just jumped on it yet, I still need to get some boost control happening.

powertune just finished there twin scroll GT3076r realli looking forward to seeing the results
the owner of the car went with a big plenum camber which is a shame because i wanted to see how the turbo kit would perform with a standard intake manifold

Also can the 3071 be got in a twin-scroll too?

It can, it's the same hot side.

You'll have to get the housing from ATP in the US though (unless someone is on selling them here now)

What i was getting at though is whether there is someone who can supply it with the housing already on, rather than spending 1600 on the turbo with the normal housing then having to spend another 600 or whatever on the TS housing
