unigroup were explaining it to me, it had something to do with the waste gate pressuee only being 8 pis rather then your normal say 10 psi, so i think maybe the rod not being able to extend anymore or something like that. Ill have to ask them again when i see them on saturday..
It will hit about 20 psi but then come straight down

interesting...

this is the equivalent of the GTRS turbo isnt it ? alot of people experienced what you did, and it was because the turbine was too small.

not sure what an uprated actuator is supposed to achieve

quick question what is a good AFR and what would you say is a rich reading and a lean reading? looking at mine it is about 12.1 ??? correct me if im wrong, that would mean it would be too lean yeah i would probaly want to be closer to the 12.8 or 13.2 range?

Garrett GT2871R is the GT-RS equivalent, GT28RS is smaller

Hey Marshy,

To answer your question you've got it the wrong way around. The lower the reading i.e 11.6 is going to be a richer mixture than that of an AFR of 13.3 for example.

As for what you should be reading as a 'safe' AFR, I'll leave that up to those who have actually tuned before.

BTW, congrats on the power figure/curve, looks a good combo, with a little more fuel headroom (injectors) should see some bigger numbers again. :)

240rwkw with stock AFM?? wow....

thats what the dyno sheet said, and that it was done at unigroup as well.....so yea,

what is the potential suppose to be with the afm anyway?

as far as i am aware teh std AFM will handle up to about 200kw maybe 210kw.

thanks vex33d i thought i was a little confused.

nice results, should be more responsive than my car.
forgot to mention, i to had issues with boost creep. got to 14psi(3500rpm) fine and then climbed to 19-20psi(5000-up rpm), simple solution, welded the IW shut and welded an external gate to the stock manifold. problem fixed (not really, boost still goes up abit in the hi-revs. even with a blitz dual solinoid boost controller)

The IW 3071s are notorious for wastegate creep. Its the housings fault really. Its a shame you've gone external gate on your T2 to fix it. The T3 3071 + ex gate would have been a much better option from the start!

yea, with the effort i went through, should of got a different turbo from the start. but at the start i wanted a straight bolt in with minimal effort. but everything never goes to plan.

not to bad an effort last night at unigroup.

259.1rwkw

-STOCK CAMS
-STOCK AFM
-STOCK MANIFOLD
-555cc infectors
-pfc
-t2 3071
around 20psi boost tho..lol

and who said it couldnt be done. pretty happy with the results. should get more when my new parts go in

-toda cams 265/10.5 in/ex
-z32
-740cc

that really is a special effort considering those mods. never thought stock AFM, stock cams and 555cc injectors would get ~260rwkw...

Author:  lef7y [ Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:33 pm ]
Post subject:

yavuz said to me on the night, that it could make more, just that the injectors ran out. 259rwkw at 6200rpm and injectors on 96%, was starting to lean out so he stopped the run.

i reckon that the turbo still has more to give.
