Im not that clued up on turbos in skylines, im researching...

In Silvias, say a s13, we go from a T25G to a T28. Fairly simple up-grade mod.

Now that Ive got a r32 4 door what turbo would be the equivalent?
A turbo from a r33, r34?

And while im here, what turbo would I have in stock form?

You have a mongrel hitachi/nissan/garrett hybrid stock.

next upgrade is the mongrel hybrid off a S1 R33 with has a bigger comp wheel, next is an r34 one which has a bigger turbine housing aswell.

They are both limited to about 200rwkw max as you still have the stock ceramic turbine to worry about so can't run them too hot.

the limit on the std wheels is ~0.9kg/cm2 of boost.

and next step after what Dave has posted is to high flow the R34 turbo for a bit more flow, and reliability with steel wheels.

after that, how far do you want to go? 2835R,3037,T51R?

A friend of mine has a hi flowed stock turbo on his r33, with a full exhaust, fmic, pod, and around 12-14psi and he is pulling just over 200kwatw.

So if I went a hi flowed stock r33 turbo, would that be equivalnet to just a stock r34 turbo? What would require the least mods to install?
And what would you recomend out of the two?

200atw is pretty poor for a high flow, i'd expect close to that from a stocker with everything running right.

Honestly, i think the the rb25 highflows are a touch big for an rb20 as the boost threshold is just too high to maintain any sort of bottom end pull. I had that combo, i had to be into it all the time to go reasonably quickly. Something like a 2530 or 2510 are what i'd look at for an RB20.

Maybe it was with just the stock turbo... anyway what figures would I expect with a 2530 or a 2510?

you can easily pull close to 200rwkws with a S1 R33 turbo at 1bar of boost with a good remap, cleaned injectors, FMIC, full turbo back exhaust, decent fuel pump

but for how long? cheapest option and argurably most reliable is to go a r34 neo turbo.. most power, newest component=less chance of failure if run on a safe boost.

Im thinking on going along the lines with an eventual 230atw but run low boost and increase gradualy with other mods and also when I get used to the extra power...

2530 should give a good 220rwkw with pretty good response.

If i had my chance to do it all again i would have bought the $900 2510 that TMB offered me over 3 years ago....

if you stay under 0.9kg/cm3 of boost, sure.

go above a bar,and you can kiss the turbine wheel goodbye. part of why there are plenty of high flowed R34 neo and VG30DET turbos getting slapped onto RB25's is thanks to the ceramic wheels having blown apart necessitating the rebuild and boring out of the turbine housing.

you want the hks one as it has the right turbine housing to suit and rb manifold and dump.

Where would the best place to buy this turbo from?
Ive seen one for sale for $2200, seems like alot...

EDIT: Ive found a garrett gt2860rs for $1344.55 from tweakit, that seems like a winner to me...
