what about the emanage ultimate?

PowerFC is the only sensible option.

Ideally go at least 550cc injectors, RB25 or Z32 AFM, a set of cams, RAS, and a fuel pump.

emanage? heh... save your pennies for a proper ecu

Have a look at some of the stuff fergo is selling here http://forum.silviansw.com/viewtopic.php?t=28570 . Injectors etc

In a nut shell;

an engine/ecu equiped with an air flow meter is measuring the volume of air the engine is sucking in and spits out a 0-5V signal (in the case of a nissan hot wire type afm) so at x revs when your stuffing 20psi down the engines throat it knows how much air you are using so it gives the right amount of fuel for that much air.

a map sensor equiped engine is effectively guessing how much air the engine is using based on manifold pressure so it is a lot more tune dependant. Your primary load signal is constant as soon as you are at peak boost so from 3500-7000rpm at 20psi for example the only variable is revs. For wide open throttle usage it works very well. For partial throttle not so well. So as a fix they depend on the tps 0-4V or 5V signal for partial throttle openings up to a certain percentage of throttle opening. The tps signal is not load dependent so getting the light throttle tune right for all situations is difficult, and generally is no where near as nice as a properly set up afm equiped car in this part of the map.

The pfc, for example, only looks at the tps as an on/off signal, so it can say hey, speed =0, tps =0 we must be at idle. speed =30 and decreasing, tps =0, we must be decelerating, better make sure i catch the revs at 1000rpm so it doesn't stall. As soon as the throttle is touched, the pfc is looking at the afm. The only time it falls down is if you have a big arse turbo with a small turbine housing that causes reversion at idle and low load as that mucks up the signal.

simple enough?

And yeah, on an sr cams and rocker arm stoppers go in at the same time.

and that ladies and gentlemen is why you buy a Haltech where you can use a combination of both the TPS and the MAP sensor both of which register 0-5v. More map points and tunability then the PFC will ever have.

(puts on flame proof suit and waits for reply :lol: )

aw you're such a good boy Dave! lol

ok I understand it now.

and my next question.. why power fc over emanage? because it's going to be hell difficult to get my hands on a power fc!!!

umm tunability... PFC craps all over emanage.

I don't know if this is in your price range, but they seem to have them for the majority of models...
