If your interested in 2530's aaron I have the two sitting here that came off the GTR from when I went to 2540's and I'll have the two 2540's off the car next week once I put the 2835 pros on.
The 2530's were meant to be sold but if your interested ill chase up the old buyer and tell him to forget bout it.

Obviously your going to need an SR exhaust housing cause the GTR flanges are different but thats a minor problem.

u would need a different exhaust housing for the turbo...

is that costly? would i be better off looking for the sr one?

iam looking at upgrading my s14a's turbo towards end of the year,

currently running

stock motor, turboback, fmic, s15 injectors, autronic SM4 (MAP), enclosed pod.

have been looking at something like a GT2330 (GT28R) from garrett or maybe a GT2860R (GT28RS).

atm my car is making 170rwkw at 16psi on a fairly rich tune.

the cars is mainly aimed at sprints (hillclimbs and some circuit).

id like to still have fullboost early, with an increase in midrange and topend.

the obvious choice is the hks2530 or garrett disco potato (gt28rs) in a .63 turbine housing

good for about 230rwkw on reasonable boost.

next step up would be the 48 trim 2871 in .63 but you will lose some response but gain a handful of kw up top

Wouldn't a better step to gain power be to add cams and perhaps a touch more boost?
Easier and cheaper.

Unless your aim is 220+ rwkw i think cams and a touch more boost should satisfy you.
My car at home is running S15 plain bearing turbo (so same difference to S14 turbo), Z32 AFM, 1.1bar of boost (drops off to 0.8 bar in the top end, typical T28 thing), S15 injectors and PLMS tuned rom.
It pulls 190rwkw and feels strong as, very responsive down low and pulls well all the way through to cutout.
Add cams to my car and you'd see 200rwkw.
That tune is conservative as well, AFR is 11 to 11.5:1 all the way through the rev range at WOT.

I second the cams. They way it improves the engine torque through the mid and top end makes it a huge bang for your buck mod, considering how cheap cams are nowadays. If you need more, the GT28RS/HKS 2530 is a nice way to go!

For a streeter, there is no reason to remove the NVCS. HKS Step 1s are a proven combo!

Yep Just go 256 poncams, well worth the cash.

well had a chat to bloke who tunes my car he seems to think the car will lose low end with the cams, he advised me to just go bigger turbo.

he seems to think the disco & gt2530 rated at 320hp wont do 200rwkw ? t28 is rated 280 currently doing 170wrkw @16psi (conservative dont think he wants to push it to much blow up mates car you know)

he wants me to get a 400+hp turbo.

the disco and gt2530 see fullboost at 3200ish on stockish sr20 with good response ? can anyone comment with experience ?

Id like to go the gt2530 maybe the disco but to much conflicting ideas.

the cams are fairly cheap $500ish but he seem to think iam wasting money and wont get what i want from them, garretts gt2530 is $1200 but i think that is smaller, what i understand is disco almost the same as hks 2530

i got ~220rwkw out of a gt2530 quite easily and that was with boost tapering off in the top end, there may have been a few more kw there.
