Hey guys,

Im planning to (finally) upgrade the t25 with a new GT28r in the 180sx. There appears to be two exhaust wheel sizes avaliable, 42mm and 53mm.

I just want to check. 42mm is for rb26detts and its 53mm for sr20dets yeah?

Cheers.

no.

42mm isn't a gt28r

gt28 describes the turbine which is 53.x mm

The current vernacular with garrett is gt28 (describes the turbine and cart) followed by a number say 76, 71, or 60 (describes the compressor major diameter)

3076 is a gt30 rear end (60mm major diameter) with a 76mm compressor.

a disco is a 2860, so 53odd mm turbine with a 60mm compressor

Trims and compressor/turbine housing a/r's is another story

I think I get that, so then if tweakit.net say they sell a gt2560R (or gt28r by the old name) with a 42mm 62 Trim turbine link

They made a typo then, correct?

Also, because now I'm slightly unsure, the 2560R listed on the garrett website here in the exact configuration listed on the website (comp and turbine wheel size, trim and A/R), is identical to the t28bb fitted to JDM s15s, correct?

Cheers.

tweakit get it wrong a lot.

They were advertising something a while back as a 3071 and from the specs and photo it was one of the abortion 3076's with the T04s front end.

The one in the garrett link is the s15 turbo and yes, gt28r by the old confusing name despite being a 2560. In the text up the top left of the page it says it's an OEM SR turbo too.
