a friend just put a KKR480 on his RB25. Its fairly laggy, but makes a truckload of power from 4k til redline

Cost him $990 brand new too..

Probably, I remember it had too many "K"s for such a short name :)

VW/Audi, Porsche, Blitz etc is KKK. KKR turbos are a copy in the same way Carrett is a copy of Garrett turbos.

Personally I wouldn't go within a million miles of them and given the price of Garrett turbos these days I can't imagine why anyone would.

A disco (GT28RS) with a .64 rear end would be about spot on imo

Whether a turbo will hold boost till redline will depend alot on how well your engine breathes.

A disco on a stockish engine may hold 18psi till redline.

The same turbo on an engine which is more efficient at higher RPM may only hold 16psi till redline, but still make more power than the stock engine at 18psi

Go to otomoto and have a look at the product quality (esp the inside of the intercooler cores!!) and you won't go near KKR again..

Ok guys selling shitty products..
