I've been having a hunt around the forums at different sized turbos, and there is so may it gets confusing ;_;

The engine in question is a stroked CA18 with all the goodies (decompressed, forged etc.), so lets just think of it as a decent SR20 ;)

It'll get the usual big injectors, emanage/pfc, AFM, bigger throttle body, full exhaust and FMIC, so everything will be setup to start pulling the numbers.

200kw atw seems to be the benchmark for internally standard 2lt engines, so Im thinking that looking for is reasonable.

So, I've been looking around and I'm looking for *some* responce, so no T88 sized beasts. So far I've come up with:

HKS GT-RS - Looks good but the pricetag is :|
Apexi t518z - Nobody has much experience with these, so I dont know too much about it
Garret GT2871R - Looks like an awesome option so far

I'd love to go with a TD05 or 6 trust kit with an external gate, but its a bit out of my price range.

At the moment im guaging opnions on these, and I'll be speaking to a few shops about what they think is best (hell, they sell them, the should know :P)

In sr terms :wink:

The gtrs can do it, but only just. The T518z are supposed to be able to.

The 2871 can be had in identical trims/housings to the gtrs. move away from those and you start to lose a lot of response for very little top end gain. If you were to get one i would highly recommend sticking to the 52 trim comp with .6 cover and 76 trim turbine in a .64 housing. It will choke on it's own exhaust at the top end but still make better than 18psi at redline and 24-28 through the midrange.

I hope youve got bigger valves and big, high lift cams in the head otherwise you will need something bigger again :) (i tried but couldn't help having a shot)

Out of your choices listed Id go with the GTRS.

I have seen very few CA's with them but id asume it would have to goods to produce the 250 providing the engine holds together.

If it was me personally and I wanted to stick with the CA id lower my goals a little to say 220 and go with a potato.

I'd imagine that with the build its got it should hold together fine with 250.

Most people seem to been keen on GT-RS's, but I had a quick look around and they are alot of cash :|

I'm not surprised that nobody has much experience with these - they don't exist. Trust make the t518z, not apexi
