Hi guys,
I bought my s15 with ( i thought) a malfunctioning boost gauge that would only read to 2 psi..
I though this was impossible as the actuator sits at its lowest at 7psi..
Now..
After cleaning the air filter and replacing an overboost vacuum hose, i am now reefed into the seat and still only measuring 5 psi on the tacho.
Ive put it in for warranty repairs and the machanic tells me its strange to hear..
He know where im losing the 2 psi though..
He says its from the flange gasket off the turbo...
Itll be fixed soon and wont hurt the car..
My question is this..

I raced my mates s14 (14psi) wrx (14psi) and new monaro ute and smashed them all by atleast 2 cars..

Is running a std sr20 on 2 pound boost..
Does this sound right...?
Or would work be done on my motor..
Only 52k
Ive had it on the hoist and std exhaust
and not 1 blemish of oil..

Yes its jap spec..
And yes im the first owner in aussie..

on 5 psi it breaks traction on boost..with 255 x 18 inch wheels

Just wanted some feedback..

doesn't sound like an accurate reading either way.

after i changed my wastegate actuator, i couldnt get the pin on the end of the wategate shaft, so the actuator arm fell off. no big deal, the car run perfectly with no boost lol

i actually hit 0.4bar in 5th gear with the wastegate fully open :)

the standard boost gauge doesn't read in PSI, which may be where the confusion comes from :)
