ARC is NOT the only one better. there are many other brands that may be more suitable for what you want.

most people chose the cheaper option. having never seen a hybrid cooler, i cant comment on the quality.

but i go by 'you get what you pay for' :)

fuck what a RORT a monkey could install an intercooler

here is a good tip - advan love your money! stay far away

im suprised they didnt offer you a GREDDY intercooler lol

if i were you id go and buy a BLITZ or TRUST fmic which can he had for around $1300 and flow better than the hybrid and also purchase an apexi pod filter and then fit them yourself. or do you mean CAI just some duct which runs up from the bottom of the car to the pod? becasue if thats the case it costs like $20 or so from bunnings and you can easily do it yourself....

if you need a hand im sure some of the people on here would help you fit it for a few beers :D

When you say the owner, i assume you mean the boss of hybrid/powerdigger.

Which core design are you talking about? the new tube and fin gt or the old bar and plate? The new one's aren't particularly cheap.

And just out of interest, if a test was done with all these coolers, surely it would be worth publising a little graph or something as part of their advertising and basically say "how good are our coolers, we out flow cores twice the price!"

And then you'd have to test the actual temp drop across said core because i would like my fmic to cool as well as flow.

Back to the original topic: china knockoff cooler ~200, piping kit ~300, install at home ~case of beer for your mates. Leaves you with 964 for a CAI or cams or a pfc or some swaybars or whatever you want to buy.

For the power levels most of us acheive (sub 250rwkw) you aren't going to notice much of a difference in power between a $1200 core and a $200 core. I made 238rwkw running an old 400x300x60 tube and fin core as an example.

the NSCC did some testing at their second last dyno day,and the results were quite interesting.

ARC DID come out on top for power figures with cars running similar mods, and also the highest temp drop across the core on the dyno. there was only one hybvrid core there on the day,on the front of the goblin.

just for interest's sake, the S15 std I/C drops an extra 10deg. out of the intake charge in comparison to the S14 cooler on a boosted up S14...

hybrid kits are good value for money. the piping that comes with them is fairly average, but if you have a bit of patience and proper tooling, you can do the job yourself and have a decent result.

I've fitted both hybrid and ARC coolers before, and I'd much rather have and be installing the japanese kit,but the price premium compared to what the ask is for hybrid kits might make the decision to go for the JDM gear a little difficult for some.
