ARC DID come out on top for power figures with cars running similar mods, and also the highest temp drop across the core on the dyno. there was only one hybvrid core there on the day,on the front of the goblin.

so what else was tested and how did they fare ?

hey guys,, im getting a hybrid front mount and cold air intake for bout 1500 at advan performance. just wondering if that place is any good and is if hybrid front mounts are reliable. some people say that its crap and some say its fine.
One more thing, im getting 19's on my s15, HP's... Just wondering if i have to roll my guards or can it just fit straight on?..... thanks guys.....

I have a Hybrid front mount and am happy with it.

As other people have mentioned $1500 is alot to pay. You should be able to get one fitted for under $1000 easy if you shop around abit.

A good place to try would be the sponsors of this forum who have very competitive prices.

With the 19's you will probably have to roll the inside of the guard up if you want it lowered and they are wide.

the hybrid ones are quite heavy and quality leaves a lot to be desired.

ARE cooling (www.are.com.au) have a nice page on intercooler tech. Theres a lot of info there... if your prepared to spend 1500, buy one of their kits and get them to match it up to the turbo your using. Guaranted itll be a better system with less lag and better alround performance.

go zombie!!!

ARE look fine I agree, you have to call them though, they won't respond to emails. not in my experience anyway.
as has been said several times in this year-old thread,a cheapie fitted properly will work well and leaves you with plenty of cash left over.

if you're chasing every last kw then spending an extra thousand dollars may be worthwhile. otherwise, hybrid, just jap,whoever...

I have a just jap intercooler on my wagon and it works very well for the $150 the core cost me. my girlfriend's S14 has a hybrid core with custom piping and it works very well, has more than enough efficiency for the 200kw atw power level the car is aiming for.

I upgraded to a 600x300x75 china core and mangled my home made piping some more to fit it. Car now makes 288rwkw with cams and exhaust so not too shabby for a $150 core.I will hopefully back up the figure on the dyno night, otherwise new turbo, intake and intercooler time...
