I need to get my turbo rebuilt or get a second hand one.

Can any one give me some advice as to how much it would cost to have it rebuilt and some where to do it in sydney possibly in the west?

Or would it be cheaer to get a second hand one?

GCG will do a rebuild for I think about $500 on a T25. You can pick up a 2nd hand one for $100 on forums though (here, ns.com, etc), or upgrade to a T25G or T28 for a few hundred more.

I'm assuming you're after a stock T25 off a CA18DET, in which case yes, seriously, $100 or so. Have a look in the for sale section on www.nissansilvia.com - they're often not in great condition, but for $100 you can buy one every 6 months and not be too concerned.

I only want to get the motor started as the condition is unkown then I will have it rebuilt if the motor is good.

I suggest you get something a bit bigger than a T25 though - they're nice in that they do spool up pretty much instantaneously, but they have bugger all puff. You wouldn't regret a T28.

I'm also sweating on the avalabilty of another CA18DET (cheap too!!), so I'll have two to explode.

dunno when they'll be given the flame, as they'll be payment for engine removal/disassembly/rebuild assistance.

KABOOM!!

gonna go to the wreckers tomorrow to get a couple of extra Magna injectors for said occasion.
