Post subject:  NO boost !

Just wanted to hear your thoughts on a problem i have at moment.
Turbo is speeling up fine but when it gets to the point of boost i get no boost.
Theres no sudden accelaration.I have a hks sequencial bov i loosened the bolt on the back of it abit hoping to increase the noise of the bov as i could hardly hear it .After doing this the turbo problem began.I know its not bad fuel as ive gone through a number of tanks of petrol.I tighted the bov bolt up again and went for test drive car ran great last night plenty of boost. But today it started again. The problem doesnt happen until ive driven the car for about 20 min or i dump it and give it a boot then the problem begins.Spoken to a few other people they seem to think could be that the wategates rooted.Ikno its difficult for you to diagnose the problem but any ideas would be great. And no havent spoken to my mechanic yet. Cheers guys

Sounds like the wast gate is getting stuck open lettin all the gas that gives you boost go away. If it stays like that it may be sitting on your cat.

check the wastegate actuator. make sure its not stuck open. the spring in it could be rooted

Yeah im thinking zei is right. Bov seems to be working fine i suspected it might have been leaking but once i tightened the bolt it was fine.Car runs great for a little while then just stops boosting.Any other ideas ?

Mark at least spell my name correctly. Dumbass :P

as for no boost, yeah try removing the BOV all together. Plug the hole up. dont stress about the fluttering, just take it around the block.

could also be a leaking hose hehe a BIG leak

so it only started once you were messing around with the BOV...

my guess is you may have rooted the spring in the BOV, so now it vents just a tad too easily :P

sounds like bov is leaking under boost

Post subject:

Yeah but just by slightly adjusting the bolt on the back of the bov (hks sequencial) would that be enough to damage the bov ? I wouldnt think so ?

just tighten it up as much as possible and see what that does

if it fixes it then thats your problem, if not post up if it does anything else

Post subject:

Or remove it and see what happens, that way you have completly elliminated the possibility.

Ok will do see what happens.Interestingly enough i find that it only does it during the heat of the day at night and in the morning its fine no problem with boost. From this im getting the feeling that some how maybe the air temp is having some sort of effect. ??? Im abit confused by it all

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago...end up tracking it down to the BOV getting stuck open. Not sure why it only did it once it heated up, my only thought is it had something to do with expansion with heat outside in comparison to internal heat ??
