Just had this new garrett GT30 71R installed on my s15 with poncams. The turbo bolted straight onto my stainless steel manifold. Paid $1600 for the turbo brand new from racespec.

Here are the results as tuned by jim at croydon racing developments

249 rear real kw......... on 18psi

Boost harder then the hks GTRS and its about $850 cheaper. Bolt on fit easy.

These garretts are new on the market and its the first one the boys have ever tuned. They were very impressed with its performance. Yes it is a little laggier then the HKS GTRS but pulls so much harder, they loved it.

Value for money you cant beat it, so for all you boys who are curious about these turbos, here is one that has been done and it rips. 10 out of 10.

I'd get your mate with the strange s13 to get cams and a retune because 250rwkw isn't even close to the potential of these turbos, let alone under 200rwkw

Just curious these are roughly the same turbos as the 2871s aren't they?
Why would you want to increase the exhaust size for an SR it is only going to result in more lag...

it will make a lot more power than the 2871, and because of the external gate and nicer exhaust housing it doesn't lose too much response.
I think for a street car the 2871 is a better choice, mainly for ease of installation - but the 3071 is really nice for bigger power applications.
