What type of turbochargers do they use, and are they boltable to a 180sx CA or SR?

And CA's (I assume T2 as well, seeing as I have been told the s15 Jap turbo bolts to the CA as a nice upgrade).

Damn, cant wait till I have the dollars for an SR20 upgrade, but that will take a while, maybe 6 months away :(

They are some sort of hybrid nissan/hitachi thing with a bb core and ceramic turbine. Not a bad turbo for around 180rwkw but if you want any more then it will likely spit the turbine out the exhaust.

The problem is you will need to modify your exhaust manifold and oil and water lines to fit one and it ends up costing more than an s15bb turbo swap and you will end up with a worse turbo.

Easy to say, but I have a charger that's making nasty noise, and a car that I rely on for work, without the car, no income, so I have to bite the bullet and get stuff done now, but when I do get the conversion done, it will be an awesome all-in conversion, engine, ECU, full exhaust, turbo, injectors, cams, probably pistons/conrods/crank, etc.

fair enough. then get a cheap ass turbo to last you :)

or get something that is suitable for an SR20 now, and run it on low boost till you get the SR20 conversion and drop it on that

Bingo, I am getting a turbo off either CGC turbo's, or Unigroup, slightly larger than the S15 stock unit, Ball Bearing, and will be changable.

I will also rebuild this current turbo, and look at possible applications elsewhere, such as maybe my G/F's car when she gets something nice.

Until then, I am not going for outrageous power, just something confortable, and when the time comes, I will be going from my baseline 106.6Kw to hopefully 240Kw (small increase in power).

Nah, I have already placed a deposit on a brand new turbo, I want to get the warranty with the turbo, that way I have something to fall back on if anything goes astray...

I will be rebuilding my current T25, and either selling it as a fresh rebuild, or installing in cousin/girlfriends car.

NOooooooooo, cousin is NOT girlfriend, that's just NASTY!!!!

It will either go into my cousins car when he gets his licence back, or it will go into my girlfriends car when she gets game enough to want to turbocharge.

(me thinks I need to be more careful in my wording)

I come from New South Wales, not Tasmania.

If my profile said Tasmania, you would have ever right to think that I might be up to something with my cousin
