None taken.

Mine only makes 238rwkw so not enough to make it a dedicated dyno queen :) (especially since it has an rb25)

But i do like bottom end after having an rb20 that didn't make boost till 4300rpm, the 25 makes 20psi by 3100 and has better than 200rwkw from 5k to redline :)

Just spotted this thread tonight and thought i'd put in my two cents worth. :P

I popped in 221RWKW@19 PSI with stock cams and a HKS GT2535 snail on my now SOLD S14a at Micks Motorsports and CRD with strikingly similar figures.
A bit laggy down low, but the power came on and kept on going right up to redline.
Anywayz,... my two cents worth. :)

Next project will be with the proven GT-RS and the obvious support mods to my S15 :D

20 PSI @ 3100 that sound like a solid ride TMB :D
How do the RB20/25/26 handle with the extra weight?

He does get boost a bit earlier than mine. I reckon i get 20psi at about 3500-3600 or thereabouts on the street
I also get over 200rwkw from about 5000 onwards too, but then goes on to get 240rwkw from 6000 till redline 8)

So what's the difference than t_m_b?

Does he have a trick tune or something else different from the other GT-RS owners? lol

I think there is some confusion in the thread here.

I am comparing my SR20 with his RB25. He doesn't have a GTRS

No worries.

As far as handling goes i've always had rb's in my skyline so cant really comment on the extra weight.

Mines reasonably quick to turn in due to the amount of castor i run but still tends to understeer mid corner. It accelerates out of corners well but again tends to push a bit. Mine doesn't break traction exiting corners due to the rear suspension being pretty soft.

I don't think I have ever driven a car that understeered as badly as my 180 does. I would have thought with such a light engine that this wouldn't be the case. I am hoping when I finally get around to putting in the offset Nolothane bushes and strut brace might help give the car a bit more direction.

The reason I asked was I wasn't sure if the extra weight helped grab a bit better or was just more weight to push into the corner.

If the car is designed around the engine theres no reason why it shouldn't be able to handle allright.

The sils tend to have a bit better weight distribution and lighter weight overall so feel a bit more chuckable, if you know what i mean. More castor and slighty stiffer springs can make a big difference. Swaybars aswell but i have no first hand experience with upgraded bars.

I am usually a hard braker but I am finding I have modified my driving style to suit, but still I think geting rid of the factory rubbers that are stuffed should held control somewhat.
