Are there any ways to improve the performance of the standard intercoler? I know a front mount is the best way but I don;t have the coin. The front bar is comming off for a respray so I thought I could enhance the cooler a bit.

Cheers

Water spray, i think (i'm not 100%) that the cooler is already ducted to some extent so the only way up is to get water spray.
Options like using a larger OEM cooler from another car (ie GA70 supra etc) are easy and cheap though. The GA70 supra cooler is bigger than a stock nissan item, will fit neatly in the front of most cars and won't need much piping to join it onto the stock system. Budget perhaps $200 all up?
Sure it's not a 600x300x75 cooler kit but it beats what you have.

If the car is stock and has not been touched before then the cooler should have a duct directing air onto the cores surface.

A water spray set up would be a good idea for the stock core but its still not going to prevent it from being heat soaked very quickly.

A replacement core like what has been suggested would be a good idea however you will still be restricted by the poor air flow from the tiny air dam in the bumper.

Save your dollars and get a decent front mount is your best option.

Thanks for your suggestions guys, I'll stop raiding the piggy bank for a while and get that front mount.
