hey guys, as above how can you tell?
yesterday after checking my plugs and starting up my car, i noticed a weird whining/buzz sorta sound. it happens while its idleing and if you accelerate it just gets louder. the sound seems to be coming from the turbo. could it be just a gasket? or is my turbo really on its last leg ?

btw. it's the standard T25G running stock boost, if that helps.

Probably a gasket or a loose heatshield.

Have a look around there to see if there is any carbon build up.

pig magnet: when i started my car this afternoon the sound had gone away.. :o but before it made a kinda zzzzzzzzzz sound ... and as i accelrate it'll get louder.. going zzzzzzZZZZZZ .. lol

just in case it is the gasket, i bought myself a new manifold to turbo gasket from nissan.
