Hey Guys,

I'm in the process off getting my N16 Turboed.

My shopping list is:

I sourced these parts from the US.

Protech Manifold, HPC Coated (T3 Flange)
Apexi SAFC II
Bosch 360cc Injectors
Custom Fuel Rail
Bosch BOV (Factory Plumback Type)
Braided Lines and Adpators etc.

The kit i got came minus a cooler and a turbo.

Now i've bought a VR4 Evo Cooler as well.

I've also come across a T3 off a VL that's been rebuilt and highflowed for a very good price. It has a standard rear wheel though...

Seeing that the manifold has a T3 Flange would it be a lag monster running a T3?

This is a pic of the manifold

I'm only gonna be running 7psi and maybe 8-9psi on really cold days...

What you guys think?

It will probably be pretty laggy, but at least it won't restrict the exhaust too much so the engine should be pretty detonation resistant.

For that engine though I think I'd find an RB20 or RB25 turbo, which will be a lot more responsive (and they're cheap)

yep ceramic wheels, they would be a very good choice for the QG18,

At the boost your looking to run i'd say ceramic rb turbo would be very reliable, if you want to up it to about 14psi then look at another turbo with steel wheels.

The VL turbo isn't that good to begin with, so even with a highflow it probably isn't worth it.

the ceramic turbos are very reliable as long as you keep within their limits.
Since you'll be running low boost you won't have any problems, and it'll give better response than an equivalent steel wheel turbo.

VL turbos are steel wheel standard.

hiflowing is a very generic term. It could be anything from a simple back-cutting of the exhaust wheel, right up to putting 600hp internals in th housings.

The turbo in question has had its front housing machine out and a bigger comp wheel fitted...

But i'm gonna look for a RB25 Turbo...
