I recently had a front mount installed and the other day I gave it a solid bootfull and in 1st I hit about 15psi, same as 2nd but in 3rd and 4th it didnt go higher than stock, 8-9psi.
What could it be, see my sig for my other mods.
Oh would a bleed valve fix this, or a controller?.

From what i've read bleed valves do nothing to control boost spiking.Electronic controllers are the way to go.
The technical guys could probably tell you why.

if you have the money go for an electronic one, they definatly increase both boost response and boost "spiking" way better than manual bleeder valves. most bleeder valves will tend to spike to .1 or .2 bar above the intended boost setting before slipping back down the the wanted pressure. this is something to do with the internal gate being too small standard to bypass enough exhaust gas at highish boost levels, therefore excess exhaust gas continues through to the turbo and increases boost pressure and results in a usually momentary boost spike.

Its actually a case of setting the bleed valve up properly not just bunging it in the hole.

There should be a carfully selected oilive put into the wastegate line to prevent spiking, This olive is in the factory line and needs to be used with a bleed valve as well, may require a different olive depending on the valve and engine/turbo.

Its all in the way the bleed valve is set up , nothing to do with the size of the stock wastegate at all the internal waste gate will not become a restriction on a turbo designed to have one unless you are trying to make it do something it is not intended to do.

as too_much_boost has proven many times over, that a $50 bleed valve is just as good as a $900 ebc when it comes to controlling boost.

any form of boost controler will be classed as illegal by the police but they really don't pose any threat to the environment. The bleed valve does bleed a small ammount of air to atmosphere but it is clean filtered air.

The bleed valve can work very well but needs to be set up properly, for some weird reason TMB has his just bunged on and it works really well but his whole Sil80 seems to be weird.

Hey stop picking on the freak!

When i went from bleed to EBC, I noticed no real difference.

It didn't spool any faster, not hold boost any better, but it did have prettier lights, and the ability to fiddle with boost level without popping the bonnet appealed to me

I think TurboXS gated bleed valves are the best bang for buck out there

Why is there all this commotion of EBC's being better, and spooling up faster, etc over the bleed valve? :-?

Because they do all of what you just mentioned.

The EBC is easier to adjust, you can up the gains and they will ramp the boost on faster, not heaps but sometimes noticably.
They are the way to go.

Actually my Eboost returns the air it removes back into the intake system :P
