Who has this issue? I rekon the turbo comparisons was awsome!
For those wanting turbo upgrades, I recomend having a read.

For those that have read the feature, wat are your thoughts of the results?
It was a shame that we couldnt see the full potential of the AVO.

There would be too much to scan anyway.

Alright I cant scan it, so here is a little write up;

All tests were done on the High Performance drift project CA powered silvia, with the help of the Apexi power fc.

1) ATS/Turbonetics Cheetah
- $1500, 179.2Kw @ 1.2bar
Boost response~ 5
Overall power~ 6
Ease of fitment~ 5
Value for money~ 7
Total= 23/40

2) HKS GTRS
- $4356, 189.2Kw @ 1.2bar
Boost response~ 8
Overall power~ 10
Ease of fitment~ 9
Value for money~ 4
Total= 31/40

3) AVO Garrett bb 320hp * boost response should of been a 10 because it virtually mirrors the stock turbo.
- $2035, 178.2Kw @ 1.1bar
Boost response~ 8
Overall power~ 6
Ease of fitment~ 6
Value for money~ 10
Total= 29/40 (it was printed as 31/40 but its not I counted the stars)

4) GCG XTR GT28R/SR3040
- $2450, 187Kw @ 1.15bar
Boost response~ 5
Overall power~ 9
Ease of fitment~ 9
Value for money~ 7
Total= 30/40

NOTE: Due to difficulties with the boost controller they couldnt get any more boost into the AVO turbo, BUT its a fair call that the turbo would of hit the mid-180's without too much trouble.

CONCLUSION

Things aren't always what they seem with turbochargers, two valuable lessons were that; 1- small turbos doesnt mean it will provide excellent bottom end boost, forget about sheer size, go directly to the manufacturer's dyno tests. And 2- Price! you really do get what you pay for.
The HKS was the winner but because of the price, the AVO was their favourite. Buy one for yourself and your best mate!

Farking!
Must of been and old issue they through in with Hpi.
Any way still a good read, the results wouldnt vary that much would it?
Well as for the GCG XTR GT28R/SR3040 they said it would be ideal for the SR20.
