yeh engine blew lol. didnt even have it running mates put my oil relocator on the wrong way around (my fault for not double checking everything before giving it to the workshop to get the microtech installed. oil pump spun, took 3 pistons with it. This is the specs of the engine build now should be building it this week (once rods arrive) ACL 40thou oversized forged pistons ART Forged Rods ARP Rod Bolts ARP Main Studs ARP Head Studs ARP Flywheel Bolts ACL Race Bearings New Oil Pump Billet Steel lightened Flywheel Ported head. Imagine how much you would have saved by dropping an SR in it instead? |

anthony yes i realise i could have put a 1jz or a 2jz for the price this cas cost me. but yeh doesnt really matter, i like the simplicity of working on the ca knowing that if something needs doing im able to do it. sr20's yeh im just not a fan, and yes ive built a couple of sr20's for mates and driven them just doesnt feel as good as the ca. even my mate preffered his ca18 over his 200kw sr20. |

Wow i remember reading about this car being built a long time ago. Possibly when i was building my last car. Good to see you are sticking at it, lesser men would have sold the bastard off by now. Ever thought of making a 2L CA18DET while you were at it? |

considered doing it but desided on seeing how much power i could get out of the ca18 without cheating and making it a ca20 (if i wanted a 2ltr id get an sr20 or equiv). yeh this has been in the works for along time (3 years) i drove the engine for around a year last year with a standard head and a t28 making roughly 140-150kw. |

Can't believe you are still kicking around with this CA dude... this is a project running from the early days! I know you got the passion for the CA - but once you do switch to SR, you wont believe how much easier life becomes. good luck with the ongoing CA project though |

btw when I sold the burgundy 180, the guy that bought it churned out 160kw with just a t28 and 13psi... so no doubts they have it in them to make good power... |

hey dan long time no speak. yeh still going with this bucket of shit lol (nar its coming along pretty well). An update for you guys. A mate up in Bathurst with a ca18, td06-19c, 550cc injectors, z32 afm, standard bottom end, dr drift remap - 224.5kw@16psi not bad indeed. im going to be pushing the 280kw mark no problems i think. |

16.9psi = 282.3kw rebuilding the car (looks and driveline) atm. once its done early next year i'll tune for some more boost should see over 300kw (just doing a search for td06's and found this old thread) |
