yeh blistc if anything goes wrong with the engine i could sell the turbo kit and buy an sr20 with the cash  hehe. but seriously it will be nice to see this 2 year project completed. Im sure alot of ca owners are interested in what i finally output. especially since its a DIY rebuild 8)

i wish i had the know how to do things myself like xris

are you a mechanic by trade? or just know a hell of a lot about cars and engines?

if that was the case i would of saved myself $2.5k in labour

All you need is a workshop manual and some common sense...

This is true, you'll find cars aren't really all that complex. Having said that problems are always obscure anyways tho haha.

Anthony all i had was the work shop manual hahahaha. and sort of learnt not to take short cuts or it puts you back weeks. if you think something is iffy it generally is. (i guess thats where the common sense would have come in handy hahaha, seriously Anthonys right abit of common sense and the manual is all thats needed)

Pretty much just need to know where everything goes and torque settings for all bolts.

Take the bits that need to be done professionally to the right people and your set :)

Im a IS coordinator for the laminex group (computer support for vic/tas) but my dad helped alot with the work (hes a panel beater/spray painter) he built his jaguar engine and helped my brother do his 4g63.

My 18g has the same markings on the exhaust housing but not grinded off like yours are. Same numbers and everything.
What size gate are you planning to use? something big with a screamer I hope :D
