thats right Joe, no cams needed. if cams fitted, then the ideal combo would have to be with the .86 housing.

eugene, $1750 is a top price also. the mods my bro has are the normal ones such as tuned exhaust manifold, full 3 inch HKS zorst, Trust cooler, 660cc injectors, gt2535 turbs, haltech puter, apexi pod. internals are stock. i agree, its an excellent result.
originally tuned at micks motorsport and fine tune at efficient automotive. they happen to work with all 1250 parameters on all aspects so the tuning is as close to perfect as possible.

the potato is actually a GT28RS dude.
the price you have quoted is pretty much a good one. as nissan97t mentioned, 1700.. even a better price! but im not sure if he is referring to the same turbo or the GT2535 combo.

that depends on what you want from it.

It'll make more power, but be less responsive.

more gain = more lag
thats pretty much the equation.
with the right cam set up, computer and air flow, you can reduce this significantly

Well my turbo arrived today and to my surprise it was shipped from GCG (all the warranty etc is back to GCG) even though i brought it from horsepowerinabox in Adelaide. To buy this turbo directly from GCG was an extra $800 !

One thing i noticed is the core is stamped XTR 0031, which i think is CGG's own brand ?? Does anyone know anymore about this ?

i dropped in and saw brett at GCG. the turbs you got from HPinaBOX is a beauty. GCG's stamp is their own reference. you do in fact have the 0031 core. i asked Brett about yours. he remembers the order.
if thats the case, you have been delivered the same as what i have originally purchased from GCG myself about 6 months ago. youll get the power figures you are chasing without any probs.

yeah i actually tried hitting them up for ANOTHER one. i cant get enough of these things. hehe!
Morrie is digging one up for me. so is Honeywell Garrett and GCG. its a two week wait for these cores.
i dont think i can get one for that price though. yours is probably a one off dude. what a top price!

its the one that made 216rwkw but it was a real shit tune.
ive since taken it out and put it in my brothers s14a..
it made 221rwkw from the same tuner.
then took it to another more experienced tuner and is now getting 250rwkw and at a much safer tune.
go figure?
