I am looking at getting some braided lines made up or purchase in kit form.
Are all the lines done, or just the oil ones?
Anyone got any ideas?
If I ring Enzed, how will they make them up, will they need my old lines to meassure the lengths and thread sizes.

I have just replaced mine on my S15. I now have both water lines (inlet and outlet) and the oil inlet line braided. The oil drain is just a rubber hose and is not equied to be done.

I would not spend the money doing this until you have to remove the turbo as it is difficult and time consuming, not to mention expensive. I only replaced mine as one water line was leaking and it was easier to do them all when it was all apart.

Make sure you avoid Enzed and Pirtek, they are the middle men.

Go directly to Motorsport Connections in Seven Hills, both the above places in Penrith told me they source their auto fittings from there.

If you drive the car in and describe what you want, there is an excellent chance that they can sort you out.

Pirtek make the things in house on the spot if you can take in your old lines or at least have the banjo bolt sizes for each end of a line and the length the line needs to be

Braid for the water lines isn't a must have but for the the extra 50 bucks or so for the cost of braid over rubber you may as well get them done in braid. The fittings and manufacture costs are the same either way.

Pirtek and Enzed simply mark up a margin from Motorsport Connections. They both told me this themselves. Why not deal with car experienced people and save a few dollars in the process?

I have used pirtek before without any worries I just took samples down and they used my original fittings so saved money that way. I did find that the SR has different thread pitches on the block to the turbo on the oil supply line. From memory the turbo is UNF and the block is 1.25 metric.
Best off giving samples either way unless they do lines for turbos all the time like Motorsoprt connections do I assume?

If you are after a specific automotive fitting or brand then yes go to a workshop but if you are after a generic braided line with a couple of banjo fittings or a banjo and a screw in fitting (they aren't a special fitting or anything) then pirtek has em. Having dealt with them for the past few years with plant maintainence and having lines made up on site for gear there is no real diference in function, the automotive lines just have prettier fittings.

Turbo is coming off, so now is the time

Cost was about $250 for the three braided lines and about 6 hours labour $420, including changing diff oil also. not a cheap exercise by any means.

Mercury Motorsport did mine for me in Brisbane. They just buy the hose and fittings and make the lines themselves.

Shit dude thats sounds like heaps, I spoke to my mechanic today and said it would be around $180, to supply and fit.

Turbo has to come off, thats where all the labour is.

Yeah sorry, the cost for removing the turbo was covered under the install of a manifold, in my case.

$250 for 2 braided water lines from Enzed.

i got all myh turbo lines done at PIRTEK at peakhurst, they did them in like 30min.

awsome job, very happy.

and were very cheap. the day i went in were about 5 other blokes there like me with complete turbo and manifold(still together etc.) looked funny.
