I just took my airfilter pipe off the rubber one and noticed theres a bit of
in the turbo and its coming out a bit onto the rubber pipe...

when i tuned my car b4 i also noticed that under full load and then letting the throttle go, a bit of oil would come out the exhaust... (puff of bluish/white smoke)

so does this mean my front seals gone??

heard that when u take the airfilter pipe off and theres oil, it means ur turbo seals gone...

its a stock t28 on my s15.. can it be reconditioned??

most turbos can be reconditioned without too much drama

i highly doubt an S15 turbo would blow seals.. what mods/kms have u done? under warranty?

id be looking at other options before the turbo personally

its got fmic, exhaust, bleed valve, power fc, pod filter, exhaust manifold, and thats about it..

making 190rwkw..

wat else could it be?? how can oil get there if its not the turbo??


oh yeh its also got 49000km and its still under warranty but i doubt they'll give it to me...

wld200 - there's not a lot to be concerned about.
its actually the oil breather hose that runs into your air intake pipe. your breather hose plumbs into your inlet pipe between the AFM and the inlet of the turbo. some say it helps lube your bushes or bearings but really its not needed especially if its an S15. no lubing needed by the excess oil that comes out of your breather.
its very normal to find this residue on the inside of your inlet pipe. what may happen in time is that the oil will go thru your compressor and out into your cooler piping and into the cooler. this on a rare occassion has to be cleaned out but its not damaging if you dont.
some of us have opted to remove the breather hose, plug up the hole where it enters the inlet pipe, and stick on a breather filter on the end of your rocker cover. try this method, run your car for a week and check pipe again for signs of oil residue. if you still have oil there, you may have a seal problem (unlikely though). if you dont, problem solved!

yeh i've actually got an oil catch can between there... so shouldnt the oil stay in there and no be able to reach the inlet hose???

i forgot to mention it before...

and when i check the cooler pipe there wasnt much oil at all... if any...

thanx anyways...

how come everyone doubts its the seals???

cause its highly unlikely that they will go..
who knows, you may have a bit of bad luck or something. (shrugs)

because a mildly modified S15 wit less than 50k on the clock should not blow seals on the turbo.. unless ur running 20psi every day...
