Well its almost time to choose which path im going to take. im currently sitting at a fork in the road, down one way is a trust turbo kit (turbo, tuned length manifold, external wastegate) the other is a Garrett turbo (GT28,GT30).
I want to run around 250+kw@rw.

Iam currently purchasing a Tuned length manifold but im not worried if i sell this.Image but i like the idea of running an external wastegate trust kit (td05, td06). Image

What does everyone think?

Here are my mod on my engine (i either have or im getting, i have most of it as the engine is sealed, currently running it in with a stock head, stock ecu, t28 turbo).

forged pistons (APEP)
Race preped rods
Linished and nightrited crank
balanced bottom end (billet steel lightned flywheel, xtreme clutch also balanced good for 300+kw@rw  )
ported head (unknown yet but opening up the ports to 4 from 8 on the intake) 3 angle grind
260 tomei cams
Tomei valve springs
Sr20 auto tb
Malpassi rising rate fuel reg (2:1)
660cc injectors
Power FC (or remap)
Hybrid fmic
3" zaust
PWR GTR radiator
Upgraded fuel pump (currently running a VN pump)

I'd be leaning very heavily towards the kit.

Better manifold design, better wastegate, good turbo options (and cheaper to rebuild if necessary because it is still a plain bearing turbo). Only have to worry about a custom oil feed because they aren't water cooled so theres a bit of a saving.

Importbitz have a couple of td05 kits available at the moment to suit ca18 too i think at very reasonable prices. Get a rebuild on the turbo and the external gate checked over and you'll have a perfect kit for less than the cost of a new garret turbo on it's own.

I vote TRUST. As well as the reasons Dave says the external gate should help response, which will be important on the smaller CA.

TD06? Who needs response anyway?

Obviously it is going to be a straight line car only

Well if drags is what your goal is, then TD06 will be great, but it will be pretty crap for drift or circuit work..

I'm putting a TD05-18G on my SR20, even though I have a TD06-20g sitting here as well

xris have you got it running yet? just wondering how the cams went and if you have any idea of the lift the 260's have?

Isn't the 20G the biggest Td06? I rekon you will be kinda shocked at the lag don't expect to much under 5K :D
A while ago I was using a trust something on my engine and it was way to laggy to drive to and from work everyday great fun on the freeway but :P

the cars not running as of yet, my starter motors dead  should be going this week.

my cams have 8.8mm of lift

well a mates using a 440hp turbo atm on his ca and his engine is running 195kw@10psi @ 6500rpm so i dont think its going to be all that bad. and i've seen a few jap cars to the same spec as mine (even turbo) so i dont see it being too much of a problem (especially since the engines balanced and should rev out pretty quickly). will see how it goes around christmas once its all on. im pretty sure it will drifting quite nicely also.
