Im about to purchase a GT25040R turbo charger, and im aware i need to purchase an oil restrictor, as i am swapping from the stock T25G to a BB unit. Where is the best place to purchase one of these from? Also, how necessary is it to swap oil/water lines when changing turbos?

Thanks in advance

i dont think the oil and water lines will fit. i had to do minor mods to my oil and water lines when i swapped my t28 to the gt2540r. secondly, you need to change your banjo washers. apparently they are only meant for a one off application.
best off getting flexible oil and water lines. Earls Plumbing supplies hoses and fittings so u can make up your own lines to suit.

btw, how much did you pay for your gt2540r? i got ripped when i sold mine. grrr!!

I found out that the turbo is really a Garrett GT28 not a 2540r, but it already had an oil restrictor in it aswell. It came with braided water and oil feed lines, and they are all hooked up - but there was one big problem. We accidentally stripped the thread on the block for the oil feed line. So we are getting it tapped and hellecoiled and then she should be good to go to the intercooler place on wednesday arvo for some piping. Hopefully by saturday ill have it up and running. One problem i also had is manifold gasket studs. One of the studs came out, as a nut was still attached and it jammed itself on and we cant get it off. So we have left it not fully done up (we thought 1 out of 8 wouldn't matter, and it seems ok). Everything else is fine, ill take some pics and upload them when it gets back from the intercooler place.

make sure you catch ALL the metal fragments due to stripping the thread, coz there's no place for them to go except for straight into your oil feed for the turbo. These little bits of stripped alloy with block up your turbo bearing cage almost instantly and cause you probs with bearing failure and front comp housing needing to be machined because your turbine will come forward under boost.

Just a word of advice from first hand experience.
